Leadership Trends for 2025

With 2025 on the horizon, several companies are sharing emerging leadership trends. It’s top of mind for many of my clients, too. Here are main keys from the article Top 10 Leadership Trends for 2025 | Horton International:

  • Human-Centered Leadership: Emphasize the growing importance of empathy, emotional intelligence, and employee wellbeing. Engaged teams who find purpose in their work are 18% more productive according to Gallup’s 2023 findings. Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) are another area where leaders can create long-term success.
  • Digital Transformation: Explore how leaders can effectively navigate technological advancements and AI integration in their organizations. Gartner predicts that this will increase efficiency by 20% from 2021 and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Inclusive Leadership: Inclusive leadership that values diverse perspectives is essential for fostering innovation. This will address burnout and consider diverse needs like remote or hybrid work. McKinsey & Company indicates that companies with diverse executive teams are 36% more likely to be more profitable.
  • Agility and Adaptability: Discuss strategies for leaders to remain flexible in rapidly changing environments. Productivity is one of the top five strategic business priorities.
  • Transparent Leadership: Transparency and ethical behavior build trust and attract and retain top talent. Gartner’s 2024 Leadership Vision for Tech CEOs emphasizes the importance of leading through change with integrity.
  • Leadership Development: Continuous learning is essential for leaders to stay relevant and be effective. Coaching and mentoring are at the forefront of growth and improve business performance by 33% according to DDI’s CEO Leadership Report 2023.
